Marty Hart and the ReadyLIFT Off Road Suspension / Maxxis Tire / GearUp2Go.com Pro2 race team rolled into the searing hot SpeedWorld Raceway in Surprise, Arizona for Rounds 5 & 6 of the Lucas Oil Off Road Racing Series with one thing in mind...WIN. The "Hart Attack" moniker that Marty has become known by this season is fitting given his tenacity of attacking each race with a constitution of determination that is second to none. That effort was very evident at this Dual In the Desert event.
The usually popular Speedworld track provided a wealth of challenges on this weekend. Most notably was the driver's concerns about the track not being conducive to passing. Having just installed a fresh 800 horsepower bullet into the ReadyLIFT Off Road Suspension / Maxxis Tire / GearUp2Go.com Pro 2, Marty used the qualifying event as a chance to break the new combination in and learn the new characteristics of the track. Saturday's Round 5 race had Marty starting deep in the field of 18 Pro 2 trucks. It didn't take long before Marty chipped his way through the fender-banging carnage and quickly emerged in second place behind Rob Naughton. Hart was right where he wanted to be and was preparing for where he would make his move for the lead. Unfortunately this mission was short lived as Marty found a rut buried in the fluff in the big sweeper turn which consequently bent the rear trac bar, driving the right rear tire into the chassis and causing a flat. A disappointed 10th place finish was the best he could then muster.
The team worked tirelessly through the night to fix the battle wounds and give Marty his best steed for Round 6 on Sunday. With temps upwards of 105 degrees at race time, tempers of the drivers and the hot Arizona climate were a fair match. Starting fourth on the grid, Hart charged straight to the front when the green flag was waved and quickly found himself in second behind The General Brian Deegan. Similar to Saturday, Hart was plotting when and where he would make his move. This is quite the challenge in a two ton race truck with 800 horsepower just itching to send a driver spinning out of control. But Hart's tool box of skills is well equipped for knowing how to be in the right place at the right time. That time came right after the mandatory caution when Marty vaulted his truck past Deegan's ailing truck and took the lead. While the class of pros were executing a full on battle royal in his rearview mirror, Hart could run his own lines, uncontested lines that led all the way to the checkered flag and his second win of the season as well as setting fast lap of the race!
Celebration on top of the podium was a team event.
While the accomplishments on the track are truly Marty's own to savor, he will be the first to tell everyone that the success this team is experiencing doesn't ride on the shoulders of one person. It is a team effort. No task is too small, neither is any too large. There is a reason that Marty Hart is at the top of the list of the championship points for 2012. A committed driver and a committed team makes the difference.
The elder statesman of the team wasn't the only one to savor success over the weekend. Young gun Kyle Hart put on an incredible and enjoyable race in his Duncan Racing prepped ReadyLIFT Off Road Suspension / Maxxis Tire Modified Kart. Taught by one of the best in the business, Kyle listened and applied the racing tricks his father taught him and rallied from a mid pack starting position all the way up to a fierce battle for the lead. This really was a great race to watch. But in the end hard charging and making no mistakes wasn't good enough for the win when the checkered flag fell, but Second place is pretty darn good too! Currenly Kyle sits fourth in championship points and is within striking distance of the top points position.
Team ReadyLIFT Racing would like to congratulate both Kyle and Marty for their outstanding performances in Surprise. The successful efforts of this team mirrors the quality and devotion to excellence that ReadyLIFT engineers into each and every product we produce.
